A Hands-On, 3-Day Intermediate Ultrasonography Course
Take your ultrasound skills to the next level with this highly practical, case-driven course designed for veterinarians who already have a foundation in abdominal ultrasound and are ready to advance their diagnostic capabilities.
This three-day intensive programme blends focused lectures with extensive hands-on scanning sessions, allowing participants to deepen their understanding while applying techniques immediately in a supervised clinical environment.
Participants will refine a systematic approach to abdominal ultrasound, expand into Doppler applications, and gain confidence scanning more specialised regions including the neck, thorax, and musculoskeletal system. Emphasis is placed on real-world clinical application, improving both image acquisition and diagnostic interpretation.
With small-group practical sessions and direct guidance from an experienced imaging specialist, this course provides an ideal setting to elevate scanning proficiency and diagnostic accuracy.
What You’ll Learn
Participants will build on their existing knowledge and develop advanced ultrasonography skills, including:
• A structured, systematic approach to intermediate abdominal ultrasound
• Application of Doppler techniques for vascular assessment and abnormalities
• Advanced scanning of abdominal organs including gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and lymph nodes
• Evaluation of urinary system and reproductive structures in greater detail
• Ultrasound assessment of specialised regions including neck (thyroid, parathyroid) and thorax
• Introduction to musculoskeletal ultrasound techniques
• Identification of complex conditions such as portosystemic shunts
• Ultrasound-guided sampling techniques
• Interpretation of real clinical cases to improve diagnostic confidence
Why This Course Stands Out
✅ Extensive hands-on scanning across multiple body systems
✅ Small-group practical sessions for personalised guidance
✅ Exposure to Doppler and advanced ultrasound applications
✅ Case-based discussions to bridge theory and clinical practice
✅ Up to 24 CPD point
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for:
Veterinarians with prior experience in abdominal ultrasound
Practitioners looking to advance into intermediate-level imaging
Clinicians seeking to expand into Doppler and specialised ultrasound applications
Veterinarians aiming to improve diagnostic accuracy and confidence in complex cases
Pre-requisites
This is an intermediate-level course and is not suitable for complete beginners.
Participants should:
• Have attended a prior basic abdominal ultrasound course
• Have at least 6 months of hands-on ultrasound experience
• Have performed a minimum of 60 ultrasound scansParticipants who do not meet these requirements may find it difficult to follow the lectures and practical sessions.
